Agh so much to think about
1. I am a judge for best game of 2008. It was terribly surprising to be asked to do this, and I'm hoping my decision will be a smart one... there are many wonderful games this year and choosing between them is going to be very difficult. There are some games that should've been nominated (in my opinion) and others that should not have been nominated at all... not monthly winners included by default, but staff inclusions. There are still some games I have to play/replay before I can choose, so this will be a busy weekend.
2. I am making a new game with Snubbyc, who programmed Supertank. I'm really happy with the art (and programming :3) so far and I think it's going to be great when it's done... It's a remake of an old project, that is actually posted publicly on the Internet. If you can find it, then you can feel like we share a special bond. Also you'll get to play a crappy game and get transported 2 years back in time, when I drew with the mouse and thought I might actually get good at programming. HEH. I still have a lot of game ideas in the back of my mind, and one of my goals is to really speed up my thought process and work, so I can think through and finish games much faster. I've got a lot to learn before I can finish things in a matter of weeks, though.
3. Started storyboarding Invertebrata, Larvae's half-brother. I'm working hard to try and make it as good as it can be, so it might be a while before I even begin animation--I'll show the animatic around first and probably rework a lot of it. You should probably forget about it entirely, it'll save you a lot of waiting.
4. I found a torrent of all the music from The Neverhood, the game that dominated my brain for years. After several failed attempts to download it, I finally triumphed, and now all of its glimmering treasures are mine. Download it here. It will change your life.
5. I bought Edmund Mcmillen's CD and it's fantastic. Buy it and help a brother out, aight? Oh yeah I bought it from his etsy store instead of the NG store, which is why I don't get a fun little icon on my GEAR page. oh well maybe next decade
uh I think that's everything. here's a FUN SNEAK PEEK at the new game thing
